This section is hard for Texans. I want to wear all the things!!!! But it just so hot 98% of the time. I will continue to torture myself here and there and make a few pieces of outerwear. Outerwear is one of my favorite parts (aside from bonnets) of this time period.

Spencer jackets – 5, wool and silk - Current 1 that I claim (shown in the first image above… a little more on this jacket here). Below are some inspirational spencers:

I have always been so crazy in love with this spencer that Miss Steele wears in Sense and Sensibility. I have a maroon velvet that I am going to try to make do with. It may end up a light weight maroon cotton print of sorts with the same white trim. The fact that it is elbow length is promising for it being a spring spencer if I don’t do velvet.

I have a green and off white check fabric that would look nice in this style

Another simple example that could be elbow length and a quick sew

Pelisse - Current 2.5, I plan to remake the first 2 (I don't like the cut of them) and finish that .5 Here is a terrible example of one and the reference it was based off of.

The sleeves are too poofy up top and the waist line is too low for my taste. I will also slightly shorten the length. Gaaeww I think it’s hideous haha but my husband actually loves it!

Coat or Redingote - Current - 0 (but I kind of consider a Pelisse a coat??)

Cape - Not sure I will do this one anytime soon
