Don't Sew Alone! "A Lady's Cap Workshop"

Please join us for another sewing day. This will be a full day event so we can try to accomplish as much as possible.

Mrs. Martha Graham will be sharing her Cap Pattern. You will get a printed copy of the pattern to take home and use later. This pattern is a bit later in the period.

You MUST bring the following supplies if you plan to sew on the day of. (this may be updated as needed before the event so please check back)

- .5 yards of lightweight fabric for body of cap. Cambric, muslin, organza, voile, and sheer fabrics work best. These caps were typically made in white, though black morning caps were also worn.

- a long length of self-fabric trim or lacey trim of your choice if you would like a ruffle or basic trim. This length will depend on how frilly you want it to frame your face. The more frilly the more length. (I will measure the edge of cap pattern this week to give you an idea to start with)

-Medium gage wire to frame and shape the face area if desired

-thread, needle, and machine if you plan to sew on a machine

I know this is a weekday but those are the best sewing days for me to host because my daughter is in school most of the day.

Be sure to bring snacks/lunch/drinks for the day. Food and drinks not provided.

Looking forward to seeing you and creating something together!
